QUANTITATIVE
FIT TESTING
Quantitative Fit Testing (QNFT) is a facial fit test for tight fitting respirators and is required to ensure compliance with AS/NZS 1715:2009. QNFT detects the existence of any leakage as well as the amount of leakage that is occurring in the tested respirator. A Portacount machine is used and attached to the respirator through a tube and adaptor to achieve the results of the test.
Most tight fit respirators, P3 full face and P2 half face respirators are preferred options for testing. Most major brands including 3M, Trident, Sundström, STS Shigematsu, JSP, MaxiGuard as well as disposable P2 options are able to be tested.
Not all tight fit masks are able to be tested just as not every respirator is suitable for every work site. If you’re not sure – please reach out to our team.

MOBILE/ON-SITE
FIT TESTING
Fit testing is required before a user wears a respirator on a job and is to be assessed annually. At SafetyCo we understand that you may have deadlines, can’t leave the work site or your shifts make it impossible for you to reach our convenient Silverwater location during our opening hours.
It’s a common request for us to come out to worksites and we’re more than happy to assist. There is a common misconception that the PortaCount machine (fit testing machine) requires a completely clean and sterile room – this is not the case. Ideal spaces are smaller rooms such as a crib room where it’s easier to control the ambient particle count but we are also able to fit test from our vehicles.
We work with you to come up with a plan to minimise the disruption to your workers and their work day. Please get in touch and we’ll accommodate as best as we can.

AUDIOMETRIC TESTING
Audiometric assessments or hearing tests measure your ability to hear different sounds, pitches or frequencies. It’s a painless, non-invasive hearing test that assesses whether or not you’re hearing correctly.
Clause 58 – Audiometric Testing of the Work Health and Safety (WHS) Regulation 2017 came into effect from the 1st of January 2024. In simple terms, if you are frequently wearing hearing protection as a control measure for excessive noise you must undergo audiometric testing. For all new workers, a baseline hearing test must be completed within three months of commencing work.
At SafetyCo we conduct the most common method of hearing tests – a pure tone audiometry.

HEALTH MONITORING
SafeWork Australia explains: “health monitoring provides information to the PCBU about the control measures that are used at the workplace. It lets the PCBU know if control measures are not effective or if a worker’s health is being affected by exposure to hazardous materials so that actions can be taken.”
But, navigating the constantly changing requirements you need in order to just go to work sometimes feels like having to learn a different language.
That’s where we come in. By understanding what you do, where you work, we can get to what you actually need.
Through partnership with Qualitas Health, Synergy Radiology and Lungscreen Australia – SafetyCo Health offers a unique health monitoring service that simplifies your workflow.

PPE COMPLIANCE CHECK
According to data by SafeWork, 15% of all serious injuries in Australia are due to inadequate PPE or PPE that isn’t fit for purpose. At SafetyCo we believe 100% of these incidents are preventable.
Our solutions based approach involves understanding your business. What work do you do? What are the hazards? We start by asking better questions. When it comes to safety, there is no one size fits all solution, nor do we think that the best solution is always the most expensive product. It’s about identifying the right solution, every time.
By operating this way, we can understand your needs better which leads to significant and measurable results. Take a look at how we’ve helped our clients, and register for our team to come and learn more about your business today.
